Is a former senior civil servant of the Ministry of Education, Italy, (1987-2019) after having been headteacher and primary school teacher. Since 2011 she is the scientific coordinator of the DIALOGUES network, a national action research project, involving some 30 state schools in various Italian regions. She was Honorary Senior Research Associate at UCL, Institute of Education London, where she received her PhD in 2008.
The Italian representative in the OECD-INES project for ten years, she coordinated and participated in several EU-Socrates projects on educational leadership, active and global citizenship, intercultural education, multimedia education. She has published extensively in Italy and internationally

Her training, starting from a base of classical studies, is oriented towards visual communication, starting with studies in Graphic Design at the European Institute of Design (IED) in Rome and the International Institute of Communication and Image (ICEI MULTIMEDIA Olivetti group) – where for a period she was teaching assistant to Prof. Franco Zeri, coordinator of the department of Graphics and Computer Graphics -, and completed with seminars on communication for children and with master’s degrees for the in-depth study of digital technologies for television. Her professional experiences gradually specialised in book publishing and event communication. Among her professional experiences are founding partner and creative director of the publishing house I Colori del Mondo and the publishing services and events organisation Leggermente (Naples). Since 2003, these activities have been complemented by teaching activities.

Strategic agency planner for over ten years, TP Vice President from 2011 to 2014, a journalist since 2019, and president of Cr.A.Sh since 2013; she has taught since 2005 the disciplines of Semiotics of multimedia text, Theories of perception and Aesthetics of the visual arts. She has two monographs and articles published in Italian and foreign journals. Since 2019, she has been working in journalism; since 2015, she has been involved in educational planning and communication design. Since 2017, she has held the position of International Program Manager in the academic field.

She has coordinated the creativity and implementation of communication projects, events, congresses, and artistic exhibitions for government bodies such as the Ministry of Health, the Higher Institute of Health, and the Lazio Region, scientific societies and non-profit organisations, as well as the study of web publishing tools, advertising campaigns, and below the line for the most important pharmaceutical multinationals. As a speaker, she has held seminars and workshops at companies such as the Senate of the Republic, the University of Bologna, and the AANT.

Her studio mainly deals with product and exhibition design. She has won numerous awards, including ADI Design Index selections, Honorable Mentions at the Compasso D’Oro, and Design Plus and German Design Awards. In addition to her project work, she has worked as a curator of cultural events and teacher. She currently teaches at the AANT, where she coordinates the three-year course on product design. Of particular relevance is her constant commitment to institutional roles: she has been an ADI member since 1979, served as a member of the ADI National Board of Directors from 2004 to 2017, and was its Vice-President from 2014 to 2017. She oversaw the installation of the Design Collection in the Palazzo della Farnesina and the creation of the Design Room. She was also part of the first Italian Design Council.

She established Atelier Crilo in 2010, a company specialising in 3D visualisation for architecture and design. In 2015 and 2021, the studio was recognised as one of the top visual design agencies by the d2 Conference in Vienna and won the Hugh Ferriss competition. The images created by Atelier Crilo are featured on CGI-specific websites. Additionally, in 2017, CGarchitect honoured Atelier Crilo with the CGarchitect Architectural 3D Awards in the commissioned film category for their work on “Superficial.” The studio’s representation work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale 2021, including installations at Casa dell’Architettura and MACRO, as well as solo exhibitions titled ” Paesaggi ibridi” and ” Disegno Plurale”. She also teaches at various universities, such as Sapienza University of Rome and the Polytechnic of Turin.

Since 1996, she has owned a studio specialising in light design, primarily focusing on the lighting of Cultural Heritage indoors and outdoors, while also exploring other application areas. She teaches at the AANT and the Polytechnic of Milan and collaborates with other universities and institutions. His research interests focus on computational design and digital fabrication, particularly sustainability and circularity. He is involved in parametric and computational modelling, robotic manufacturing, additive manufacturing of cement mixtures, and applying augmented reality systems for modelling and creating reversible elements and construction systems using recovery materials. He has authored numerous scientific publications and co-founded an innovative startup specialising in 3D printing concrete with recycled aggregates.

He graduated in Architecture from La Sapienza. He is a scholarship holder at Busan University in Korea and a finalist for the Giovane Architettura Award of the Accademia di San Luca in Rome. He designed and restored building D of the former Guido Reni barracks with the MAXXI Museum Library and Offices and the new pedestrian island of Pigneto in Rome. He was the Education Director for three years of the Master’s Degree in Sustainable Design PCS at the IUAV in Venice and senior lecturer in courses in 4.0 design and museum layout. He founded two innovative startups, including PAN Architectures (Innovation Award 2024 of the Italy-USA Foundation) and holds the Italian patent for the MU folding system for emergency relief during environmental disasters. He is a designer and researcher in the “MAXXI per tutti” project.
