Since 2011 she is the scientific coordinator of the DIALOGUES network, a national action research project, involving some 30 state schools in various Italian regions. She was Honorary Senior Research Associate at UCL, Institute of Education London, where she received her PhD in 2008.
The Italian representative in the OECD-INES project for ten years, she coordinated and participated in several EU-Socrates projects on educational leadership, active and global citizenship, intercultural education, multimedia education. She has published extensively in Italy and internationally

Her training, starting from a base of classical studies, is oriented towards visual communication, starting with studies in Graphic Design at the European Institute of Design (IED) in Rome and the International Institute of Communication and Image (ICEI MULTIMEDIA Olivetti group) – where for a period she was teaching assistant to Prof. Franco Zeri, coordinator of the department of Graphics and Computer Graphics -, and completed with seminars on communication for children and with master’s degrees for the in-depth study of digital technologies for television. Her professional experiences gradually specialised in book publishing and event communication. Among her professional experiences are founding partner and creative director of the publishing house I Colori del Mondo and the publishing services and events organisation Leggermente (Naples). Since 2003, these activities have been complemented by teaching activities.

Her studio mainly deals with product and exhibition design. She has won numerous awards, including ADI Design Index selections, Honorable Mentions at the Compasso D’Oro, and Design Plus and German Design Awards. In addition to her project work, she has worked as a curator of cultural events and teacher. She currently teaches at the AANT, where she coordinates the three-year course on product design. Of particular relevance is her constant commitment to institutional roles: she has been an ADI member since 1979, served as a member of the ADI National Board of Directors from 2004 to 2017, and was its Vice-President from 2014 to 2017. She oversaw the installation of the Design Collection in the Palazzo della Farnesina and the creation of the Design Room. She was also part of the first Italian Design Council.

She established Atelier Crilo in 2010, a company specialising in 3D visualisation for architecture and design. In 2015 and 2021, the studio was recognised as one of the top visual design agencies by the d2 Conference in Vienna and won the Hugh Ferriss competition. The images created by Atelier Crilo are featured on CGI-specific websites. Additionally, in 2017, CGarchitect honoured Atelier Crilo with the CGarchitect Architectural 3D Awards in the commissioned film category for their work on “Superficial.” The studio’s representation work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale 2021, including installations at Casa dell’Architettura and MACRO, as well as solo exhibitions titled ” Paesaggi ibridi” and ” Disegno Plurale”. She also teaches at various universities, such as Sapienza University of Rome and the Polytechnic of Turin.

A lifelong artist, she studied at the Liceo Artistico. After school, she decided to pursue her love for literature and cinema, which led her to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Entertainment Literature at the University of Rome La Sapienza. Subsequently, she followed her growing interest in the humanities by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology at the University of Perugia. In 2013, after completing her university studies, she started creating pixel art and, together with the game designer Giuseppe Mancini, founded Yonder, an independent video game development studio that is still active today. With Yonder, she works on the creative direction of her games, combining the work of pixel artists with game writers.
