A life-size marble statue of Hercules is discovered in the Appia Antica archaeological park in Rome. AANT students produce a report on the study and restoration of this significant find.
Goals:
Document the various phases related to transporting, cleaning, restoring, and exhibiting the statue and collect the testimonies of the archaeologists.
The Farm:
A valuable opportunity to put into practice the know-how acquired by students during the three-year course, measuring themselves against the peculiarities of fieldwork. To realise this video-making project, the team conducted in-depth research and study. The work began with the history of the park and the specific circumstances of the discovery, which took place during the repair of a pipeline. The final result was a video of great documentary value, also awarded by the broadcast on RAI Storia, in the programme “Sotto il suolo di Roma”. We thank Dr. Lorenza Campanella for the support provided to the AANT team.
