AANT wins the 2025 Rome Architecture Festival with “Nodo Aperto,” a temporary installation designed for Piazza Balsamo Crivelli in Rome, created with the participation of students from the Bachelor’s programs in Design and Art Direction.
Objectives:
The Farm:
AANT students from the Bachelor’s programs in Design and Art Direction engaged with a real urban regeneration project by taking part in the Call for Projects of the 2025 Rome Architecture Festival. This work led to the creation of Nodo Aperto, the winning temporary installation designed for Piazza Balsamo Crivelli, in Rome’s Municipio IV.
From analyzing the urban context to engaging in dialogue with local residents, the project involved students in a complete process: research, concept development, and the design of an intervention capable of responding to real needs. The team addressed the theme of public-space use, focusing on modularity, inclusivity, and flexibility of use.
Nodo Aperto was conceived to transform the square into a lively, shared place, able to welcome people of different ages and needs. A project that interprets architecture as a social tool, where design and participation become levers to reactivate the relationship between citizens and urban space.
